Our Story - Dame + the Devil Emporium

Me: What’s buzzin cuzzin?

You: Dame + the Devil Emporium!!??……What the heck do you actually do!?

Me: Fantastic question!

We are an emporium! The dictionary defines ‘emporium’ as a store, market or trading post. It nicely defines what we are.

A bit about us…..Currently a Hobart based couple with a niche business that grew out of our passion for all things ‘Kustom Kulture’ and the 50’s aesthetic. We have never been ‘normal’, with our interests and hobbies including surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding & all things rockabilly. We found it a real struggle to find clothing & accessories to fit our rockabilly lifestyle, both locally & nationally. However when we travel overseas we always bring home an extra suitcase full of clothing + accessories! While the search can be fun, it is also frustrating. We know we are not the only ones! Dame + the Devil Emporium was born.

Dame + the Devil Emporium aim to provide an alternative source of an ever-changing range of non-seasonal doodads + adornments; Kustom Kulture information; gig & festival calendars; reviews & promotions of Kustom Kulture related businesses and ‘shout outs’ for our ‘tribe’ locally, nationally & internationally.

‘Kustom Kulture’ is unique in that it encompasses a broad range of interests including music, dance, clothing, cars, tiki, burlesque, pinups, teddyboy, rockabilly, rock n roll, psychobilly, tattoo, art, hair & makeup.…..the list goes on! Although there is a diverse range of interests, all sub cultures are welcomed. The level of mutual respect, acceptance, understanding & acknowledgement within our ‘tribe’ is always evident whether you are attending a local or international event.

Thankfully ‘Kustom Kulture’ is not mainstream so there is not a single ‘beige’ thing about it!

So that’s our story!

We invite you to come & check us out on our website + social media platforms. We hope you like our selections as much as we do. Don’t be a stranger! Let us know what you think or even just to say ‘What’s buzzin cuzzin’!
